INSTRUCTIONS

EXERCISES
Week 10:
In our first week, we were tasked to find 3 videos related to our final project that is videos based on either stop motion or visual effects.

Here are the 3 videos:

I chose this video because I liked the lens flare effect. Even though this video looks like a taxing thing to do behind the scenes, I found it very interesting since I'm a big fan of Harry Potter and this scene is supposed to take inspiration from one of the magic spell called 'Lumos' where the wand lights up as we say the spell.

Another magic trick that I liked was a video from the famous YouTuber Zach King. In this video, the effect was one where he kept on pulling out things that were quite big from his bag as if it was not a big deal. I always liked magic trick and found this video pretty fun to watch.

In this video which is from Zach King as well, he did a visual effect where as he was pouring the water it started to crystallize. I found this very intriguing to watch.

Week 11:
Final Project (After feedback)
After taking into consideration my lecturer's feedback, here is my revised proposal for my final project.

Week 12:
After finalizing all the details for my storyboard, I shot the videos that I needed and then proceeded to edit them on Adobe Premiere Pro.

This is one of the edit that I had to do for one of my visual effect. I had to color correct the PNG so that it would match my skin as much as possible. Then I followed the tutorial to proceed with the rest.

Week 13:
After editing the first part of my visual effects, I edited the last one where I needed to be quite precise and detailed when it came to creating a mask for the butter spreader. I had to erase the string which I used during the shooting. This task was quite tedious and annoying to do since I also had to color correct the scenes so that the mask wouldn't look weird or odd.

Week 14:
After finishing the editing process and color correction of my video, I hopped onto the audio part. I wanted my video to have a humorous side. I tried to add multiple sound effects as well so that it would match the video and also make it more entertaining.

Here is the link for the audio that I have used in my video:

FEEDBACKS
Week 10:
Remove some scenes which are unnecessary and complete storyboard.

Week 11:
Change the reverse water effect as it doesn't fit with the overall theme of the video. It will look a bit too odd and weird.

REFLECTIONS
At first, deciding what to do for this last assignment was really difficult. I wasn't sure what would best suit me, but in the end I decided to do visual effects because I believed it would take less time than stop motion. It wasn't too tough to come up with a story because I was feeling very inspired and also wanted to add items that I liked. I decided to use a Stranger Things visual effect as a result. Thankfully, the shooting procedure took less time than I anticipated—about three hours. The video editing process took some time since I had to get used to the new tools I had learned to use from the tutorials I had selected. At first, getting the concept of it was pretty difficult, but I eventually succeeded. The visual effect that has the ability to regenerate was the hardest. I'm not too satisfied with the results, but with the limited time I had, I had to make do. The audio editing for my video was the most enjoyable part. Additionally, colour correction was completed rather quickly. I gained a lot of knowledge from this exercise. The main thing is that meticulous planning is necessary while filming our own video in order to avoid wasting time and having to reshoot parts. I'm not fully satisfied of what I did but at least I finished in time.
