REFLECTION
At first, I did not know what to expect from this class. I was very clueless of what we would be doing but after getting the module booklet and seeing what we had to do, I felt overwhelmed specifically when I saw the workload that had to be done for the exercises.
In this module, I would say that I learned how to plan my time and organize my workload so that I don't fall behind. I also learned a lot about the Principles of Design and their importance and how to apply them in my work. The thing that I enjoyed the most in this class was the freedom that we were given. Not only we could use any materials and medias that we wanted but we could also work on any topic that we wanted. I liked the fact that we were not restricted by some rules as I firmly believe that art is meant to break the rules (sometimes). What I did not like was maybe the amount of workload mostly for the exercises as sometimes it felt so rushed and hectic.
I think that through this module I was able to learn more about myself such as my own style, what kind of topics really interest me, my preferences and what works for me and does not. During this journey, I can say that I grew up. I procrastinate way less than before, and I learned how to be more disciplined towards myself. I also know when it is necessary to take a break to be more productive. I was able to develop my critical thinking further and analyse artworks more efficiently. I think I’m a still a bit slow when it comes to finishing my work but I’m positive that I can still increase my pace since I have a long journey ahead of me.
I find this module good enough and don’t think that it needs much improvement. For me, the exercises were efficient, simple and clear enough to understand the Principles of Design. I would like to finish my reflection on a positive note and say that even though this module was tiring, I had fun and enjoyed doing most of the projects.
